STAFF and customers at a Torpoint supermarket have raised Pounds 2,000 for a much-loved local charity.

Cake sales, tombolas and raffles have all been held at the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Antony Road, with funds donated to the Children’s Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal, the store’s chosen charity for this year.

The money will be used to care for children with life-limiting illnesses and also to provide support to parents, carers and their siblings.

The store’s staff have already chosen the Cornwall Air Ambulance as its charity for next year.
